My Story
I'm Rowan. I'm a Mum, doula, hypnobirthing & antenatal teacher and wannabe witch! ✨️
I've lived in Edinburgh all my life and always been obsessed with pregnancy, birth and babies.
I had my first baby aged 21, was very isolated and didn't feel welcome in most ante and post-natal spaces due to my age. When I had my second baby I was a single parent and felt like the odd-one-out at baby classes.
I trained with the Scottish Birth Teachers Association 2011-13. I had my third baby in 2015. I completed NHS Breastfeeding Peer Supporter training in 2017. I trained as a Hypnobirthing teacher with The Rebel Birth Network in 2021. Now I'm a single mum to 3 amazing children, work in theatre admin part-time and teach hypnobirthing!

In 2025 I was finally able to train as a birth companion/doula with Red Tent Doulas and formed Leith Doula Collective with Sophie Orton and Kate Florio. We ran a series of Birth Prep Sessions in late 2025/early 2026 and have more planned for this Autumn!
